Coir, commonly known as coconut fiber isa natural derivative of the coconut husk that is used frequently among people as floor mats, doormats, brushes, and mattresses. The fibrous material that is found in between a coconuts hard shell and its outer layer is the coir. There is brown and white coir, where brown coir which is produced from a ripe coconut, is used for upholstery padding, sacking, and horticulture while white coir is extracted from the unripe coconuts commonly used to make finer brushes, string rope,fishing nets and much more.

Mattress fiber, omat fiber, or Bristol fiber is usually twisted and combined to meet the specific requirements of the consumer. The coil shape helps with the spring effect to the fibers.
